Fair use

Oh Player plans are priced on stored source video, with fair use on delivery. This page explains what that means, what is not allowed, and how we handle abuse.

Priced on storage, never on plays

Plans are priced on stored source video. Playback delivery is fair use: it is not billed per play, there is no play counter that changes what you pay, and a video that takes off does not change your bill.

What normal use looks like

Normal business use is exactly what the service is for: demos, testimonials, onboarding and sales videos, watched by your team, customers and prospects. Pages with real traffic are expected and fine.

What fair use does not cover

• Bulk automated downloading or scraping of playback files.
• Reselling raw playback, storage or embeds as a hosting or CDN service.
• Traffic engineered to resell or abuse our bandwidth.
• Circumventing rate limits, quotas or other technical controls.
• Sharing a free trial or allowance across unrelated businesses or repeat sign-ups.

How we enforce it

We use technical controls — rate limits, delivery monitoring and account quotas enforced through our API and service providers — to detect abnormal usage. If traffic from an account looks abusive or far outside normal business use, we investigate and contact the account owner first. Where abuse is clear, or an account presents a security or legal risk, we may suspend or terminate it under the Terms of Service.

Pricing changes

Pricing never changes silently mid-cycle. If a different arrangement is needed, we agree it in writing before anything changes.
